Live Review, Swindon @ The Furnace

‘So Blowgoat take to the stage - they are clearly well experienced playing to smaller crowds, about 40 witnessed their set, and they involved them selves with everyone in the room - a wireless bass and guitar - normally reserved for pop punk show off bands, actually played an important part in the band performing in in the audience. Blowgoat have branded their own noise Drunk n’ Roll - they make nods at ripping off The Bronx, and do it with s**t eating grin, a not caring one jot attitude and f**k the consequences with some highly debatable art work (do they really have permission to use that image?) Their front man performs wasted - he is as animated as their rest of the band to the extent only the drummer remained on stage at one point, and you could tell he was itching to get off. If music were only down to performance then, based on the first 2 acts this show is already the best rock and roll show you’ve ever been to.’

Well, well, well Bridlington. You raised the bar again, it was mental. Thank you so much to everyone that came down, as battered and bruised as we are, we had a fucking blast. Mega props for crowd surfs in a room with such a low ceiling, singing along and generally being the jailbait capital of the world.

It was sad to see TARLD go so early, but us and The Orchard boys we better have a bit a party anyway (shinfo). It got silly, and the tattoo machine came out. BYFH CREW FOR LIFE.

The next day our lads in TO also said their goodbyes, I think we’ll miss Dave’s flowing locks the most, they are just sensual. We cracked on to Oldham which is one of the more gnarly shit holes i’ve had to step foot in - for example, the first thing we encounter is a group of about 30 or so football hooligans in the carpark we roll up in. The police couldn’t have come sooner.

Show was fun, met some cool people, venue was wild as fuck - thanks to those who bought cds & merch, particularly that hot chick, well done to you.
